National Grid Incentive Application

Disclaimers: National Grid's $5000 EV incentive can be applied to any new BEV of your choice and a $2500 incentive can be applied to any new PHEV of your choice. Hybrid vehicles do not qualify in this program: the vehicle must have a plug. In order to unlock the EV reimbursement, eligible employees must complete the three required actions (UNLOCK), provide proof of vehicle purchase or lease contract (copy of the signed and executed sale or lease contract with an itemization of credits, discounts and incentives received if applicable), and submit an application for the funds (will appear on this page when you've completed the unlock tasks). Applications must be submitted within 30 days of vehicle purchase or lease. After fulfilling the requirements and qualifying for approval, eligible employees will obtain the incentive on their paycheck within 3 months. Only one EV incentive per eligible employee. Taxes will be applied to all incentives.

In order to obtain any Smart Home discounts, management employees must complete the three required actions (UNLOCK), provide proof of purchase, and submit an application for the funds (will appear on this page when you've completed the unlock tasks). Applications must be submitted within 30 days of technology installation. After fulfilling the requirements and qualifying for approval, employees will obtain the incentives on their paycheck within 3 months. Only one incentive for solar system, one incentive for energy storage system, and one incentive for home energy monitoring system per employee. Taxes will be applied to all incentives.

Eligible employees include full-time and part-time U.S. Management Employees who work more than 20 hours per week. Represented employees, employees working less than 20 hours per week and temporary or seasonal employees will not be eligible to participate in the program at this time. There is no waiting period for eligible new hires. Participation can begin as soon as practical after date of hire. You must be on active payroll to receive your rebate.

This pilot will be supported for FY 19/20 while funds are available and its continuation is not guaranteed. All applications must be submitted for approval prior to March 20, 2020 in order to be eligible for incentive consideration.

Partnership Discounts

How to claim it: For partner discounts on vehicles, employees will need to bring their National Grid Badge (proof of employment) and applicable forms or unique codes (varies by manufacturer, see specific vehicle pages for details). The dealership will do the rest and take the discount off the sticker price of the vehicle. State Incentives

How to claim it: Many states offer rebates for electric vehicles typically in the form of a direct payment or check after purchase of the vehicle. Details vary by state. Learn more and access the applicable forms for your site by visiting the applicable site below:

Federal Tax Credit

How to claim it: The U.S. Federal Government will provide an income tax credit of up to $7,500 on qualified plug-in electric vehicles on your U.S. income tax return for the year in which the electric car was purchased. The credit begins to phase out for specific vehicles when 200,000 qualifying vehicles by that manufacturer have been sold for use in the United States. Learn more and access the applicable forms here.
